Protection Plan

At American Lighting Store, we sell a Two Year, Five Year, and Limited Lifetime Protection Plan (on select brands) on the products we carry. American Lighting Store is not only committed to providing the best customer service, but also offering the best value to our customers.

Please read through our Protection FAQs below for additional details and to find out what brands can be purchased with our Protection Plan.

What does the Protection cover?

This Protection Plan will cover a mechanical or electrical failure of the Product(s) during normal usage for the Term of this Protection Plan. The Protection Plan is, in addition to, any manufacturer’s Protection that may exist.

Coverage & Benefits

  • Structural, mechanical and electrical breakdowns
  • Product failures from normal use
  • Replacement parts or full fixtures will be at no cost to you. Depending on the Product and failure circumstances, at our discretion, We will either: Replace Your Product OR Provide a cash settlement reflecting the replacement cost of a new product of equal features and functionality.

What is not covered by the Plan?

The Protection does not cover :

  • Damage caused by shipping or delivery
  • Labor costs including, but not limited to, such costs as the removal and reinstallation of Product
  • Damage caused by natural disasters or other weather-related events
  • Accidental damage
  • Cosmetic damage
  • Intentional damage, loss, theft
  • Commercial use

Outdoor Finishes: Finishes for fixtures installed outdoors are subject to change due to prolonged exposure to sunlight, pollutants and other environmental conditions. Metal finishes on outdoor fixtures will naturally mature over time, changing in appearance and creating a living finish. Painted finishes on outdoor fixtures may naturally fade over time, depending on the fixture's exposure to the outdoor elements. Thus, any claim for fading, discoloration or "patina" of a finish on an outdoor fixture is not applicable to the above plan.

Coastal Environments: The environment within ten miles of a sea coast can be extremely corrosive. Even with the appropriate maintenance, products installed in this environment will typically deteriorate more than products installed in a less severe environment. Some corrosion and/or deterioration is considered "normal wear" in this environment. Thus, any claim for finish failures or for corrosion of other components due to coastal environment conditions is not applicable to the above plan.

Original User: All Protection Plans only apply to the original end use purchaser and original installation of Products purchased from our site. This Protection Plan is not transferable.

What is the duration of your Protection Plan?

Coverage for your protection plan begins on the date of product purchase and ends when your term length expires. Some benefits start on day one and other benefits begin once the manufacturer Protection period ends.

Closeout items are not eligible for the Protection Plan as they are known discontinued items and are no longer being made. They cannot be replaced after 30 days of receipt.

What is the time frame of your Protection Plan?

Brands not purchased with our Protection Plan will receive a 1 year Protection from American Lighting Store. It applies to the original purchaser of the product and the product must have been purchased from American Lighting Store to activate our Protection. The Protection does not apply to orders placed with another retailer.

Closeout items are not eligible for the Protection Plan as they are known discontinued items and are no longer being made. They cannot be replaced after 30 days of receipt.

What happens if my item has been discontinued and I need a Protection replacement?

If your item was not on closeout at the time of purchase and has since been discontinued and is still covered under either our extended or Protection Plan, please give us a call. We'll work with you on an alternative solution. We'll take care of you either way.
